Opportunity is Brewing!

The Texas Craft Brewers Guild’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Subcommittee invites you to a regional career fair to explore jobs and career pathways in the craft brewing industry in our state. This in-person career fair is aimed at attracting talented candidates who may not think of the craft beer industry when considering career opportunities, and creating an inviting and approachable experience to look at craft breweries in a whole new light. Come get to know the breweries and find out what employment opportunities await you in the industry!

ABOUT THE CAREER FAIR

The event will take place Wednesday, March 1, from 10:00am to 1:00pm at Meanwhile Brewing Company in Austin. Jobseekers enjoy free coffee in the taproom while you mix and mingle with employers representing Texas' craft brewing industry.

This event is for jobseekers who are 18 years of age or older.

Can't attend in person? Check out the Texas Craft Beer Industry Job Board for career opportunities across the state.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I've just RSVP'd, what should I plan to bring?

At the very least, jobseekers only need to bring yourself and your interest in a career in the craft brewing industry! We also recommend bringing a few resumes or contact cards to leave with the businesses that you think might be a good fit, but it's not required.

My availability is limited - do I need to be there the whole time?

Not at all! When you RSVP, you are free to use the time as you see fit to accomplish as much as you'd like toward your jobseeking goals. Depending on weather and health and safety considerations, we may be able to utilize some outdoor space, but please stay tuned to the event page for updates.

Do I need to really like beer and drink a lot of it to work in this industry?

Not at all! Even if you prefer other beverages or don't drink alcohol at all, we hope you'll consider a career in craft brewing. Jobs at breweries include far more than working in the brewhouse (where the beer gets made).

Breweries are small, local businesses that need diverse teams of professionals with a variety of backgrounds, skillsets, and interests to fill a variety of functions like office managers, accountants, sales personnel, general managers, marketing professionals, data analysts, facilities managers, drivers, packaging technicians, and lots more! Not to mention the job opportunities at all the businesses that serve and support craft brewers and the retailers that sell craft beer...

What's more, breweries in Texas are regulated by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission and standard employment law, which set rules about how employees interact with alcohol at their place of work. While specific policies may differ from brewery to brewery, it is never legal to become intoxicated or abuse alcohol at your workplace either on or off the clock. Responsible consumption is a basic expectation for professionals in the craft beer industry.

Can I attend if I'm not 21?

Yes! As long as you are over the age of 18 and earnestly seeking a job, you are welcome to attend. Employment policies vary from business to business, but many breweries have front-of-house and back-of-house jobs that are open to candidates 18+. Please also keep in mind that there may be job opportunities represented at the event that are restricted to candidates 21+.

Meanwhile's taproom will be open to the public during the event, and bartenders will be checking IDs as they do during normal operation. Attendees who are under 21 or without valid identification should not expect to be served alcoholic beverages.

Is on-site registration available?

RSVPs are not required! You can just drop in, but if you RSVP we will be able to help you follow up with potential employers and answer any questions you had about the job fair or the craft brewing industry.

HEALTH & SAFETY

We’re looking forward to the opportunity to gather together in person. First and foremost, we ask that attendees respect our brewery hosts and abide by their current health and safety policies at the time of the event. Please stay home if you are feeling sick or believe you have been exposed to COVID-19. Let's help keep each other safe and healthy.

If conditions become unfavorable or the team at the brewery decides that it is not safe for the event to go on for any reason, we will communicate a postponement to registered attendees.
